Young Lives vs Cancer helps young people (aged 0–25) and their families navigate the devastating impact of a cancer diagnosis. Their work includes:

Personalised support during treatment

Specialist social care teams provide day-to-day guidance, working closely with families and clinical teams at all major UK children’s cancer hospitals. This expert advice helps ease the emotional and practical pressures that come with treatment.

A home away from home

The charity operates 11 'Homes from Home' near specialist hospitals, offering families free accommodation close to where their child is being treated. This eases the financial burden and keeps families together during a traumatic time.

Financial help and advice

From the moment of diagnosis, Young Lives vs Cancer offers grants and welfare advice to help families cope with the growing cost of living pressures so they don’t have to choose between heating their home or paying for transport to hospital.

Bereavement support

When the worst happens, the charity provides expert care and bereavement support for parents, siblings and other loved ones, helping families prepare for loss and honour the lives of those they've lost.

Campaigning for change

The charity also listens to young cancer patients and campaigns on their behalf, raising their voices with policymakers to improve services and support.
